Mindelo, Jan 22 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Maritime Economy promised this Friday to give answers, in the first week of February, about projects and the financing of “some urgent questions” presented by the São Pedro Fishermen’s Association, in meeting held in the community.
Indeed, Paulo Veiga, after more than two hours of meeting, said that the fishing community situation in São Pedro does not differ from the others, but it is “well organized”, through the association.
From the meeting, the minister said that there were “some needs”, such as the need to improve small boat and the association’s desire to acquire a semi-industrial vessel, so that it can fish “further and more safely”.
“This need is in line with the Government’s policy and objective, which is to improve the condition of man at sea”, said the minister, who said the association had submitted some projects to the ministry and he promised, until the first week of February, to give a response on projects and funding of “some more pressing issues”.
