Mindelo, May 4 (Inforpress) – MPs elected on the lists of the African Party of Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV, opposition party) by the constituency of Sao Vicente today appealed to the Government to reinforce social intervention on the island, both in human and financial resources.
According to spokesman Manuel Inocencio Sousa, the MPs maintained this month contacts with all public institutions, state and municipality which work in the social sector in Sao Vicente, and the approach is the same: “they are unanimous that it is necessary to reinforce social intervention on the island, and everyone complains about the lack of resources. ”
The same source noted that MPs found that there are institutions on the island with teams “very dedicated, motivated and capable” of a “good performance”, but they complain about the lack of human resources, namely the ICCA which reported that in the last year lost eight employees and there is no prospect for replacement.
But also, he continued, they speak of lack of financial resources, since the resources destined to the social solidarity “few get at Sao Vicente”.
