Mindelo, Jul 19 (Inforpress) – The city of Mindelo inaugurated this Thursday the 72nd Portuguese Language Center, opened at the Faculty of Education and Sport of the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV) and aims to support students in the various aspects.
At the ceremony, which was held this afternoon, the Vice-Chancellor, António Varela, began by recalling the purposes that this center, resulting from the partnership between Camões – Institute of Cooperation and Language and Uni-CV, will serve, among them, support in scientific issues to students of the Degree in Portuguese Language and Cabo Verdean Studies and also develop research activity in Didactics of the Portuguese Language, among many others.
The installation of this center, according to the same source, testifies to the value of the cooperation that the University of Cabo Verde has been developing since its inception and in several aspects with different Portuguese entities and has been “taking advantage of the resources available”.
The member of the Camões – Institute of Cooperation and Language, João Neves, for his part, placed the emphasis on the role that the center will play between the university and the social fabric. “I am sure that it, like others, will follow in the footsteps of the older brothers, the older centers and will do a good job,” he said.
