Sao Vicente: Italian sought by Interpol for crimes of corruption and extortion presented at the Barlavento Court of Appeal

Mindelo,  April 10 (Inforpress) – The Sal Judicial Police presented today at the Barlavento Court of Appeal in Sao Vicente a citizen of Italian nationality wanted by Interpol, detained on the Sal Island last Saturday, 8th.

According to information confirmed to Inforpress by the lawyer Belarmino Lucas, who represents the Italian citizen, Alfonso Antonio Colonna Filosa, 68 years old, he must be heard today by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, through the Barlavento Court of Appeal, and then presented to the court who shall decide his destination until his extradition to the country of origin.

Belarmino Lucas said that for the moment the detainee is having difficulty to speak because of “a throat cancer”, but probably he should wait for his extradition in the Ribeirinha Central Prison in Sao Vicente.

Afonso Filosa, according to information released by the Italian press, is a former director of the Provincial Directorate of Labor and had been sentenced in October 2013 at first instance to 15 years and four months imprisonment and a compensation of 200 thousand euros for the Italian Ministry of Labor.
