Mindelo, Jan 14 (Inforpress) – The InterIlhas de Cabo Verde ship is expected to resume its São Vicente-Santiago trip on Thursday afternoon, after maintenance carried out on one of the machines, which had a small fire on Tuesday, stated the Director of Operations.
According to Carlos Dias, the repair has already been carried out and the ship has already been inspected by the authorities and will resume this afternoon and continue traveling with approximately 190 passengers, who were already on the ship and had to return to Porto Grande after the incident.
The incident, according to the same source, took place half an hour after the start of the trip, but the ship returned to Porto Grande on its own.
“The ship has two machines and one of them has overheated, all of them heat up and you can look for the answer, but was not the case,” said Carlos Dias to Rádio de Cabo Verde (RCV).
