Mindelo, Apr 30 (Inforpress) – The manager of the Oásis Hotel Porto Grande, Virna Ramos, warned Monday in Mindelo, the lack of professionals was noticed in “specific technical” areas of the sector, even with “many students” trained in universities.
Virna Ramos made this call to the press, following her participation in the event held this Monday in Mindelo, by the Higher Institute of Economic and Business Sciences (ISCEE) under the theme “Environment, sustainability and tourism in São Vicente”.
Without a doubt, according to the Porto Grande Hotel manager, in São Vicente, they feel this lack, even with “many students trained” in tourism in the country’s universities, when in terms of technical professionals there is still this gap.
“At the moment, there is the School of Hospitality and Tourism that makes a great contribution in this sense and we have received enough trainees in the table and bar area and maintenance, but we feel that there is this need”, reinforced this person, for whom it is necessary to bet on courses more targeted to areas that the sector really needs.
