Mindelo, April 25 (Inforpress) – Physical and mental health professionals from the United States of America (USA) and Cape Verde are holding a workshop on “Empathy and Ethics in Healthcare” today as part of a medical mission in Cape Verde.
This workshop, which takes place in Auditorium B of the University of Mindelo, is part of a mission carried out by the Association of Cape Verdean Doctors residing in the United States, which includes surgeries in different areas in Cape Verde this month, said Tina Cardoso, spokesperson for the association, to Inforpress.
“There are 40 doctors, but with groups spread across the islands of São Vicente, Santiago, Santo Antão, and Fogo, who will conduct workshops and perform surgeries in different hospitals in the country during this time,” said the same source.
One team from this group will be at Baptista de Sousa Hospital performing surgeries on approximately 60 patients until Thursday, according to information released by the hospital itself.
