São Vicente: Government is working on visa facilitation for Brazilian citizens – Prime Minister

Mindelo, Nov 14 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister said Wednesday in Sao Vicente that the government has an ongoing visa facilitation initiative for Brazilians, as it did when it exempted visas for European Union (EU) citizens.

According to the prime minister, a small economy like Cabo Verde has to “promote free movement” to take advantage of all that is “the potential for knowledge transfer, skills, competences, technologies and innovation” and to become increasingly “a global country.”

The visa waiver agreement for the countries of the European Union, announced in April 2017 by Ulisses Correia e Silva to be effective from May of the same year, only entered into force, however, on 1 January 2019.

This is because the measure has been postponed several times at the request of tour operators and also because a computer platform should have to be set up to allow visitors to visit Cabo Verde to be registered in advance.
