Mindelo, 31 Oct (Inforpress) – the Canning Industry Frescomar, based in São Vicente, this morning, promoted a breast cancer awareness campaign framed within the activities of its Social Department and the “Pink October”.
To this end, the company invited Dr. Maria Adelaide Delgado from the Cabo Verdean Cancer League (LCCC), which focused its communication on prevention, alerting employees to “not make fear and ignorance the allies of cancer”.
The clinic took the time to explain what the self-examination is, which should be done by all women over the age of 20, every month, and the correct way to proceed with this form of breast cancer prevention.
But the disease is not exclusive to women, as it can also affect men, and the need to look “time and time” for medical support and not when the disease is advanced.
