São Vicente: Coast Guard distinguished with Military Medal of Relevant Services of 1st Class

Mindelo, Oct 11 (Inforpress) – The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces today distinguished the Coast Guard (GC) with the Military Medal of First Class Service “for everything” that this branch of the Armed Forces has done in this 24 years.

Major General Anildo Morais, who placed the medal on the CG banner, in a ceremony commemorating the 24th anniversary of the institution, said that this public recognition aims to function as a “challenge to all its members” so that they know to “keep the memory” of his patron, Eduardo Santos, and the “prestige” of the Armed Forces.

According to the same source, the GC’s 24th anniversary is a “propitious moment” to “recognize and praise” the “efforts, skills, competencies and sacrifices” that have made FAs “one of the most prestigious” institutions in the archipelago.

“Despite all the material and financial difficulties, the military in this branch of the FA has never failed to carry out its missions,” said the chief of staff and “did not fade away” in fulfilling what was required of them.
