Mindelo, Jul 8 (Inforpress) – City councilwoman for Social Affairs, Lídia Lima, announced today that 90 percent (%) of the assisting service made by the City Hall of São Vicente are related to housing, which is also one of the “main concerns” of institution.
“Social housing is one of the main concerns of the City Hall, since 90% of the assisting services are related to housing,” said the City councilwoman, who was speaking at the inauguration of public works for the construction of 12 social housing, in Bela Vista area.
Lídia Lima said that City Hall has been paying attention to this area, since the population of São Vicente “has a lot of financial problems and money is not enough to covers the rent and live with dignity”, in fact, according to her, this is one of the reasons for the construction of these social housing.
“We are aware that we have a serious housing problem and we have to help the population, because we know that we are on an island has a lot of financial problems and where we cannot generate wealth”, she stated, bearing in mind that it is impossible to help everyone, but City Hall has doing “as the possibility”.
