São Vicente: Augusto Neves available for new candidacy if he has support of MpD

Mindelo, Sep 12 (Inforpress) – The mayor of São Vicente, Augusto Neves, said today in Mindelo that he is available to run for a new term as long as he has the support of his party, the Movement for Democracy (MpD).

Augusto Neves was speaking at a press conference in Town Hall to react about the lead in the municipality’s management instruments for the year 2024.

“If the party supports me, I will always be available. So it will depend on our party because it’s the party president who makes the choice, not me, but for São Vicente I will fight to improve the lives and quality of São Vicente residents,” he said.

The mayor also revealed that he will never run as an independent candidate and that if the MpD opts for another candidate he will be “in the front line” to “support them and guarantee victory”.

    São Vicente: Ministry of the Sea presents final version of the National Strategy for the Sea 2023-2033 Mindelo, Dec 8 (Inforpress) – The government is preparing to present the National Strategy for the Sea 2023-2033 and its action plan, an instrument for planning, operationalising and implementing economic and social development related to the sea and the economic activities it supports. The Ministry of the Sea said that the presentation workshop should take place on the 19th in the conference room of the Chamber of Commerce of Barlavento, in Mindelo, followed by a debate/clarification session. The same source clarified that the National Strategy for the Sea 2023-2033 came from the responsibility of the National Directorate of Maritime Policy (DNPM) to propose and develop measures that promote the competitiveness of the sector, aiming to make the country a maritime logistics platform in the Middle Atlantic. It will provide answers to the “major challenges” of the decade and will strengthen Cape Verde’s position and visibility in the region and the world as a “historically and geographically maritime” nation.
