Tarrafal de São Nicolau, Aug 3 (Inforpress) – The Mayor of Tarrafal, José Freitas, made a “highly positive” assessment of of his second term four-year period, reiterating the City Hall’s commitment to build the Town Hall, an investment of about 95 million escudos.
In a solemn session that marked the 15th anniversary of the Municipality, José Freitas, elected by the MpD, indicated, however, that there are still “several conquests on the way”, namely, the construction of the Town Hall, whose national public tender will be launched in the coming days, and bank financing is guaranteed with funds from the municipal treasury.
“We are talking about an investment in the order of 95 million escudos. This construction has been waiting for a long time, but it was necessary to make the appropriate financial arrangements”, he stressed.
The mayor also said that they are working for the Tarrafal Health Centre to be elevated to the category of Health Station, admitting that it will give greater autonomy in health management in the Municipality. In addition, he referred other projects to be built soon, namely the Fisherman’s House, the Fishing Complex and the Municipal Market.
