João Teves, Oct 3 (Inforpress) – The SimaJúlia Foundation, in partnership with the City Hall of São Lourenço dos Órgãos (Santiago Island), celebrated this Saturday the International Day of Older Persons with afriendly meeting and cultural animation, in the municipal market.

Speaking to the press, the president of the Foundation, Teresa Mascarenhas, explained that this event will have the presence of more than one hundred elderly people from the 22 locations of this municipality in the countryside of Santiago and aims to provide a different day and friendly meeting for these elderly people.

However, she recalled that the institution she runs throughout the year carried out a set of recreational, cultural and sports activities, walking and other initiatives for the elderly people from Sao Lourenço dos Orgaos.

On the other hand, she pointed to food and health reinforcement as concerns, but nevertheless welcomed the treatment that family members and caregivers have had with the elderly, especially bedridden people.
