João Teves, Aug 8 (Inforpress) – The rural community of Levada, in São Lourenço dos Órgãos (countryside of Santiago Island), has received a kindergarten and a Multipurpose Center, rehabilitated by the City Hall, in partnership with the Government.
The inauguration of works, budgeted at 2.5 million escudos, framed within the scope of the Municipality Day festivities and patron saint São Lourenço dos Órgãos, which is to be celebrated on August 10, was co-chaired by the local councilor, Carlos Vasconcelos, and the Deputy Secretary of State Minister Carlos Monteiro, representing the Government.
For Carlos Vasconcelos, “there is nothing better” than giving the “Nhu São Lourenço” festivities to children, youth and adults with a “decent infrastructure”, which includes a kindergarten and a multipurpose center.
Regarding the rehabilitation of the kindergarten, informed that children will enter the next school year 2019/20 a “safe space” and conditions for good learning. Regarding the multipurpose center, which houses a multimedia room (equipped with four computers with internet connection, printer and television connected to the satellite dish with several channels), according to the same source, will allow young people to have a space to spend their free time and to live with each other.
