São Filipe: Fire fighting training arises from the need to have a greater number of volunteers and better trained – Councilman

São Filipe, Jul 25 Inforpress) – The Fire fighting training of São Filipe thaat started today arose from the need to have firefighters in greater numbers and better trained, said the Councilman for the civil protection area, Euclides Fernandes.

At the opening ceremony of the training, which has a total of 24 selected members among more than seven dozen, including the majority of the 12 members of the volunteer fire brigade, the Councilman recalled that there have been many occurrences that require the firefighters’ intervention, but often come across “little staff available” to respond to the demand.

It is the need to have as many people as possible and with knowledge in the area of civil protection to give better answers the City Hall of São Filipe, in partnership with the National Civil Protection and Fire Service (SNPCB) is promoting this training lasting 195 hours and will run until August 19.

“This number is still insufficient for coverage in the municipality of São Filipe given its size and imminent risks, but the City Hall is taking an important step towards the future to have people trained to respond to the emergency situation,” said the Councilman, noting that during the training will be taught seven modules, equal number of trainers.
