Santo Antão: World Bank guarantees requalification of the seafront in the Tarrafal de Monte Trigo and 71 kilometers of country roads

Porto Novo, Dec 30 (Inforpress) – The requalification of the seafront in the Tarrafal de Monte Trigo and 71 kilometers of country roads are part of the investment package, with financing guaranteed by the World Bank, assured the Mayor of Porto Novo, Aníbal Fonseca.

The financing of these investments is “based” in the framework of the next package for Cabo Verde in the field of tourism financed by the World Bank, said Aníbal Fonseca who is also president of the Association of Municipalities of Santo Antão.

In addition to the requalification of the 71 kilometers of country roads, which are part of the tourist routes in Santo Antão, it was also agreed to finance the entrance road extension in the Tarrafal de Monte Trigo (Ponta d’Atum/Praia) and requalification of the respective waterfront.

The proposal presented in November to the World Bank also included the construction of viewpoints, the access road to Dominguinhas (Alto Mira) and the second phases of the seafront of Porto Novo and the Curraletes beach.
