Porto Novo, Aug 9 (Inforpress) – Some projects are still to be started in Santo Antão less than two months before the end of the emergency program on this island, which has been ongoing on since February following the floods of September 2016.
This is the case of the project to recover the Ponte Sul / Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, which is still waiting for the start, six months after the launch of the emergency program for Santo Antão, financed by the European Union at 7 million euros (770 million escudos) .
Moreover, in Porto Novo, the works to recover the road infrastructure started two months late, a situation justified by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Land Planning and Housing services with the fact that priority has been given to the works in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, where damages were higher.
With regard to the rehabilitation project for the Ponte Sul / Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, the contractor will, however, guarantee that it will be carried out before the end of the emergency program.
