Porto Novo, April 26 (Inforpress) – The flow of tourists to Santo Antão is expected to increase during this year with the implementation from May of the Tourism Villages Route project, which aims to improve and diversify tourism offer in the island.
The conclusion is from the tour operators coverd by the Rural Villages Route project, already with funding guaranteed by the Government, in more than 50 million escudos, which will allow from next month the implementation of 30 tourist projects in the three municipalities of Santo Antao.
The Association of Municipalities of Santo Antao (AMSA), within the framework of a protocol already signed with the Government, finalizes the preparations for the effective start of this project, awaited with great expectations by the tour operators, who believe that Rural Village Route will increase the flow of tourists on the island.
AMSA’s president, Orlando Delgado, confirmed that the conditions are being created so that the project will stat during May.
Santo Antao received, in 2016, around 20 thousand tourists, a number that, according to the tour operators, could significantly increase, starting this year with the planning and diversification of tourism.
