Ribeira Grande, Nov 23 (Inforpress) — The Minister of Youth and Sport, Carlos Monteiro, said in Ribeira Grande that “Cabo Verde has a chronic problem” to financing sport and considered that the Government must be able to design and implement a funding model.
“Basically everything revolves around the financing and sustainability of sport. Now the concerns are repeated and there is a need to design a different model of funding for Cabo Verdean sport”, he noted.
The Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister for Youth and Sport made these statements to the press, this Monday, after the meeting with associations, federated clubs and sports initiation schools at the municipality of Ribeira Grande, having added that sustainability will give “predictability” to sports agents, which, in his view, will also allow to understand where are the sources of resource mobilization.
Carlos Monteiro pointed out that for “decades” there is talk on the lack of coaches and monitors for training and, according to him, means that it is necessary to understand how to leverage and create a plan to strategically help to solve this problem in the medium and long term.
