Porto Novo, Dec 7 (Inforpress) – The second edition of the Cabo Verde Triangle Trail, which took place in the three municipalities of Santo Antão, came to an end on Sunday, with the island’s athletes in “great prominence”.
The international athlete, born in Ribeira Grande, Eliseu Fortes won the third stage of the Cabo Verde Triangle Trail, which took place in Porto Novo, and won the long trail in the race.
In the women’s long trail, the winner of the race was the Portuguese Ester Alves, while in the women’s short trail the first place was for Cabo Verdean athlete Etelvina Reis, born in Porto Novo, who won the three stages of the race.
Ivan Fortes, a native of Santo Antão, also cut the goal first and won the men’s short trail.The French athlete Aurelien Garreau was the winner of the first Ultra Trail in Santo Antão, a race framed in this second edition of the Cabo Verde Triangle Trail.
The second edition of the Cabo Verde Triangle Trail, which due to the COVID-19 was held only in Santo Antão, from December 4th to 6th, was attended by more than 500 national and international athletes in the three stages, Ribeira Grande, Paul and Porto Novo.
