Santo Antão: Rural Villages Route project will be reinforced with micro-credit component 


Porto Novo, July (Inforpress) – Rural Villages Route in Santo Antão, whose delay in its implementation is “worrying” tour operators, will have a micro-credit component to reinforce and extend this project, which is in delay almost a year and a half ago.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Employment (MEE), Rural Villages Route, launched in January 2016, it goes ahead, ensuring that conditions are being created to provide this project with the micro-credit component, which will allow the continuity and strengthening of this initiative, whose purpose is to improve and diversify tourism in Santo Antão.

This information was also confirmed by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, during his recent visit to Santo Antão, reiterating the Government’s intention to move forward with the project “for its impact on the development of rural tourism in Santo Antão “.

Funded in 55 million escudos, within the Tourism Fund framework, the Rural Villages Route of Santo Antão cover with construction and improvement of enterprises 30 tour operators who have expressed their “displeasure” for the delay in the project implementation, 17 months after its launch.
