Santo Antao: Roots project will contribute greatly to the visibility of the tourist potential of the island – Responsible

Jorge Revez, president of the Association for the Defense of Heritage of Mertola (Portugal), who cooperates with Porto Novo for almost two decades and who has led the candidacy of the Roots to the European Union project, has already made available about 500 thousand Euros (55 million contos) for its co-financing.

The signing of the financing agreement for this project, which was budgeted globally at more than 600 thousand euros, took place this Thursday in Porto Novo, in an event attended by the European Union ambassador to Cabo Verde, Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira.

For Jorge Revez, president of this association, which has been cooperating with Porto Novo for nearly two decades, the Roots project which starts to run from September will certainly be a “great contribution” for Santo Antao to advance in terms of Tourism of nature, where it has great potentialities.
