Porto Novo, Jun 7 (Inforpress) – Santo Antão is in the process of receiving another experience in the context of the project on urban agriculture, which will be developed in Ribeira de Tortolho, on the outskirts of the city of Porto Novo, including families considered poor.
In Ribeira de Tortolho there is already a water hole equipped with solar panels, which, for now, is benefiting livestock farmers, but the water available will allow the increase experience linked to urban agriculture, an activity that, in Porto Novo, already includes 50 families.
The delegate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA), Joel Barros, confirms the intention to move forward with more initiative like this in the framework of the project on urban agriculture, which is being “successful” in the municipality of Porto Novo.
It is a project has the partnership of the City Hall of Porto Novo, an entity has so far made available seven hectares of land, for the practice of agriculture in the urban area of the city.
