Porto Novo, Nov 30 (Inforpress) – The Electricity and Water Company (Electra) has included in its investment plan for 2021 the electrification of the towns of Espadaná, Moroços and Matinho, in the Planalto Leste, in an investment of around five million escudos.
The information was released this Sunday by the chairman of the Board of Directors of Electra, Alcindo Mota, who accompanied the Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy, Alexandre Monteiro, on a trip to the Planalto Leste, as part of a visit this governor is making to Santo Antão.
Alcindo Mota explained that the company he runs will “speed up the project”, which will start “soon” and which consists on the installation of about four kilometers of low voltage network and its interconnection with the existing public network in the island of Santo Antão, to guarantee “quality energy” for the populations.
The minister, who is responsible for the energy sector, informed that Santo Antão is an island “covered, practically, 100 percent (%)” with electricity, but there are still distant locations that do not have electricity, ensuring that “there are projects” to serve these areas, such as Espadaná, Matinho and Moroços.
