Santo Antão: Municipal PAICV’s MPs denounce concerns and complaints from the populations of Paul

Paul, Nov 5 (Inforpress) – The Municipal PAICV’s MPs in Paul denounced today, in a statement, concerns and complaints presented by the populations during the five-day visit to various localities of the county.

The “deplorable” situation of the fishing port in Penedo de Janela, the need for an “urgent intervention” to protect the sea coast in the City of Pombas, the “deficient and irregular” water supply in “quantity and quality” in several places visited, are some of the complaints that the Municipal PAICV’s MPs say they have received from the populations.

According to the document, signed by the PAICV benchwork leader at the Municipal Assembly of Paul, Saturnino Baptista, the gravity water supply project, financed under the II MCA Compact, which was supposed to respond to these situations, “unfortunately revealed failures in the catchment systems”, both in Figueiral and in Cabo de Ribeira that “it is urgent to be repaired”.

The Municipal MPs led by Saturnino Baptista say they have also noted that the work on the Agostinho Neto Street and the restoration of the Cine-Theater in the City of Pombas, whose first stone was included in the Municipality Day’s festivities program, denounce “the problem of poor public lighting that continues in various locations.”
