Porto Novo, Nov 15 (Inforpress) – A 68-year-old French tourist died this Sunday in Porto Novo, on the island of Santo Antão, where he was trekking with nine other tourists of the same nationality.
The tourist have slipped and fell into a cliff of a few meters, having been in serious condition for the politraumas suffered, according to a medical source at the Health Center in Porto Novo, where the victim was admitted after 11:00AM.
The accident happened in the town of Ribeira das Patas, countryside of the municipality of Porto Novo, according to the volunteer firefighters of this municipality.
The tourist was admitted to the emergency services of the Health Center of Porto Novo still alive, but ended up not resisting the injuries, having died a short time later. This is the second accident this year in Santo Antão involving tourists who travel to the island to tekiing (hiking on islands) looking for nature.
