Ribeira Grande, Apr 22 (Inforpress) – The Cruzinha Fishing vessels’ owners, in the valley of Garça, Santo Antão, received this Wednesday five outboard engines offered by the City Hall of Ribeira Grande (03) and by emigrants in the Netherlands (02).
The offer of the engines to the Cruzinha Fishing vessels’ owners come after a fire occurred on March 2 at the warehouse where the fishing equipment of the local operators were stored and everything was lost.
The suspected of setting the fire, a 42-year-old man, was arrested and continues to receive treatment at João Morais hospital because of burns.
Since the day of the incident the fishing operators from this locality in the municipality of Ribeira Grande they are without working, hence the satisfaction expressed during the delivery of these equipment.
“I am happy to receive the engines they offered me to continue to develop my activity but, at the same time, sad because everything I have was achieved with my own money,” said José Carlos dos Santos, who lost eight engines in that fire.
