Porto Novo, Jun 21 (Inforpress) – The restrictions created by the new coronavirus pandemic continue to condition the implementation of the wine production project in the Planalto Leste, in Santo Antão, under the responsibility of the women’s association from this locality (Amupal).
The president of Amupal, Josefa Sousa, said the project, which was to be implemented in 2020, continues to be conditioned by the restrictions created by COVID-19, which have stopped this initiative involving the revitalization of grape cultivation in the Planalto and the assembly of a wine production unit.
This association has already guaranteed the support of “some partners” in Portugal, who promise to provide equipment for the assembly of the wine production unit, which, at an early stage should produce only for the consumption of tourists, who visit the Planalto Leste.
The Amupal hopes, later this year, to resume contacts with partners with a view to implementing the project, which is part of a bet of this association in the transformation of agricultural products in the Planalto Leste, where there is an important production of fruits.
