Porto Novo, Oct 9 (Inforpress) – The Government has announced, through the Official Gazette (BO) of Cabo Verde, an amount of almost 39 million escudos, in order to advance the Rural Villages Route of Santo Antão project, which will now enter into the disbursement phase.
This amount, guaranteed through the Tourism Fund, will be spent through the Association of Municipalities of Santo Antão (AMSA), within the framework of an agreement signed with the Minister of Economy and Employment.
The mayor of Porto Novo, Anibal Fonseca, confirmed the publication in the BO of Cabo Verde these funds, which “will now enter into the disbursement phase”, which, in his view, demonstrates that the Rural Villages Route of Santo Antão will be a reality “for the sake of tourism” on this island.
The project, estimated at 86 million escudos, was launched in January 2016 and aims to diversify Santo Antão’s tourist offer, with the improvement and construction of 36 tourist developments in the three municipalities of the island.
