Assomada, Nov 25 (Inforpress) – The first edition of the specialization course in Religious Sciences starts this Wednesday with 80 graduates, 45 in Praia and 35 in North Santiago, whose classes will be taught in the municipality of São Miguel.
The information was presented to the press this Sunday by the sub-director of the Christian Trainning School of the Diocese of Santiago, Florenço Varela, on the sidelines of the opening of the academic year 2019/2020 and of the course, which took place at the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV), in Cruz Grande – Achada Falcão, Santa Catarina.
The event was witnessed by Cardinal Dom Arlindo Furtado and the president of the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University of Braga (Portugal) who, in parallel, met with the participants of this course and gave a conference entitled, “Moral and religious education in schools: dialogue faith and culture.”
As explained by the same source, this first course, promoted by the institution of which he is part, aims to provide teachers with the necessary tools to work the school subject of Catholic Moral and Religious Education (EMRC) introduced this year in public schools in the country. This official, who recalled that they received 98 candidates, and the course initially planned to start with 70, after all will start with 80 graduates divided into two classes, one in Praia (45) and another in São Miguel (35).
