Assomada, Mar 4 (Inforpress) – The mayor of Santa Catarina received a visit from the Ambassador of France in Cabo Verde, with whom she addressed possibilities for strengthening cooperation in the areas of health, education and vocational training.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday at the end of the visit, the mayor, Jassira Monteiro, explained that this visit, the first of the Ambassador of France in Cabo Verde, Olivier Serot Almeras, to this municipality in the countryside of Santiago, aimed essentially to strengthen the existing cooperation between Santa Catarina and France, through the French municipality of Amiens Metropole.
At the meeting they also examined the ongoing projects in the fields of water, environment and sanitation, sectors in which that French municipality is one of the major partners and funders.
In this regard, the mayor reported that through the tripartite partnership between the City Hall, intermunicipal public company Águas de Santiago (AdS) and Cabo Verdean Association of Amiens (ACVA), France, allowed the connection of water home to 100 percent (%) in the locality of Travessa Baixo, benefiting more than 100 families, budgeted at 3 million escudos.
