Santa Cruz: Fifteen young farmers complete gender training

Pedra Badejo, Feb 25  (Inforpress) – Fifteen young farmers in the municipality of Santa Cruz completed on Wednesday a training on gender to prepare them so that they can work on the issue of gender transversality throughout the agricultural sector chain.

The training  action, which lasted two days, was an initiative of Coopermodo, in partnership with the City Hall of SantaCruz, as part of  the “Terra Verde” project.

In the course, which was attended by seven young males and eight females, from 10 locations in this municipality in the countryside of Santiago, topics such as gender and agriculture, gender-based violence and others were addressed.

According to the Councillor of Economic and Social Development, Jamira  Duarte,   this training also aimed to strengthen the powers of the project beneficiaries on the issue of cooperativism and associativism so that they can value the entire chain of the agricultural sector.
