Santa Cruz: City Hall starts rehabilitation works for the future Séma Lopi Cultural Center

Pedra Badejo, Jan 23 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Santa Cruz, in the countryside of Santiago, launched this Tuesday, the 22nd, the first stone for the rehabilitation works for the future Séma Lopi Cultural Center, in a ceremony chaired by the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries.

Abraão Vicente said that the program “An auditorium in each municipality” is a “structuring project” of the Government’s current mandate and the work of the future Séma Lopi Cultural Center can be structuring, taking into account that between March and June the rehabilitation will be completed and delivered to the Santa Cruz population.

As he explained, the commitment was to start the works with the availability of the financing, around of 15 million escudos, being 10 million escudos for the total rehabilitation of the space and another five million escudos for the equipment, “breaking with the practice of not giving continuity to the initiated works”.

The mayor of Santa Cruz, Carlos Silva, said that the work will be a reality, considering the guarantee of the budget provided in full, through the Government, with 50%, and the City Hall with the other half, ensuring that by the middle of June it will be completed.
