Assomada, April 20 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Santa Catarina intends to obtain a bank loan worth 221 million escudos for the infrastructure of the city of Assomada, ambition already approved by the Municipal Assembly (AM).
The decision was taken on Wednesday by a majority, with 11 votes in favor of Movement for Democracy’s MPs (party that supports the City Hall) and nine abstentions by the elected representatives of the African Party of Independence of Cabo Verde (opposition) in Session held in Achada Lem, in that municipality.
The mayor, Jose Alves, explained that this amount will be used for the infrastructure of the City, namely in the construction of the pedestrian street, in the requalification of Avenida Liberdade, in the rehabilitation of the sea front of Ribeira da Barca, among others.
Since 2010, according to the mayor, the municipality of Santa Catarina has not obatain any credit for investment, so at the moment it has “all the financial freedom” for that purpose.
