Assomada, Jun 8 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Santa Catarina, in the countryside of Santiago, promotes from Monday to Saturday, 11th, the 3rd Environment Week focusing on raising awareness among citizens for the care to be taken with solid waste.
Speaking to Inforpress, the Director of Environment, Sanitation and Civil Protection, Zenon Miranda, explained that the initiative, which began on Monday with an environmental awareness action at the Bus Terminal of Assomada and Moinho, falls within the scope of the World Environment Day, marked on June 5, under the motto “One Earth”.
However, according to the same source, the target audience during this week are all citizens, involving adults, young people and even children.
And given that the problem focuses on the treatment of solid waste, this week they will raise a awareness campaign to commercial establishments to help them treat waste better.
