Assomada, May 13 (Inforpress) – The city of Assomada, in the municipality of Santa Catarina, today celebrates its 21 years of elevation to the category of city and its patron saint, Nossa Senhora de Fatima, and aims to be a “city of the future”.
The statement by the mayor of Santa Catarina (Santiago Island), Jassira Monteiro, in a message addressed to the citizens, on the occasion of the Assomada City Day, for whom the date is a time of “great importance” for the life of all citizens.
“For the first time since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic we are able to celebrate City Day with the dignity it deserves, joining in the street the collective desire to make Assomada, increasingly, a truly city,” noted the Mayor, who wants to count on everyone for the construction of a “city of the future” with quality of life for all its inhabitants.
As the “major urban transformations” initiated from 2016, interrupted by the pandemic period, the ongoing projects and new projects will allow to “raise the quality of life” of the city to new levels, this is a “source of pride” for all Santa Catarina citizens.
