Sal: VerdeFam prepares adolescents to face behavioral and emotional changes

Praia, Jul 23 (Inforpress) – Adolescence is a phase of rapid transformations, beginning of puberty, which plays an important role in young people because it bring behavioral and emotional changes thus implying training to better manage conflicts, says Olavo da Luz.

The training, according to the coordinator of the Cabo Verdean Association for the Protection of the Family (VerdeFam) Center in the Sal Island, in statements to Inforpress, takes place in the context of the training meeting to be held today, Friday, with adolescent children from 10 to 14 years to talk about puberty, growth and development and the campaign “STOP ” Do not touch My Body.”

“It’s the age group that starts puberty with a set of questions without no one to explain to them why behavioral and emotional changes, about why the menstrual period, body and voice change, as well as sexual and reproductive health,” he said, stating that the VerdeFam team experienced the need to empower adolescents so they could pass on the teachings to colleagues.

In this time of vacation they take advantage to train adolescent children of the island with information on the matter since they found that most parents do not talk about these topics with their children.
