Espargos, Sep 27 (Inforpress) – The second edition of the “Sal a Pente Fino” campaign removed 46 tons of garbage from the seafront, about four thousand bags, collected by more than five hundred participants in this cleaning action.
“Sal a Pente Fino” has as its primary objective to make a general cleaning in Sal Island, based on the perspective of Regenerative Tourism, which proposes a change of values which go beyond minimizing the damage to the natural heritage of tourist destinations, caused by mass tourism over the years.
Promoted by Cabo MICE and Ocean Lover’s, this campaign challenged, once again, companies, associations and residents to join the initiative and make the tourist island an example to follow in terms of environmental awareness, through the collection of waste in the coast or those are left behind by bathers.
A press release reported the results of this clean-up action, to which Inforpress had access, pointed out that this campaign allowed the collection of as much garbage scattered throughout the island, mainly on the seafront, but also in the peripheral areas of urban centers.
