Espargos, Mar 15 (Inforpress) – The National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics (INMG), in Sal, promotes, this Thursday, a “National Dialogue on Meteorology, Climate and Climate Change in Cape Verde” to mark the World Day of Meteorology, marked on March 23.
The activity, held within the framework of the celebrations of World Meteorology Day, this year under the motto “The future of weather, climate and water throughout generations”, will take place in the Main Hall of the Town Hall, with speakers from the different regions of Macaronesia.
Macaronesia is made up of the archipelagos of Azores (Portuguese Republic), Madeira (Portuguese Republic), Canary Islands (Kingdom of Spain) and Cape Verde (Republic of Cape Verde).
According to a press release, the celebration of the event, in partnership with the Deputy Ministry for Combating Climate Change and Ecological Transition of the Government of the Canary Islands, becomes “special”. This is because it takes place during the period of celebration of the 150th anniversary of international cooperation in meteorological and climate observations since the establishment of the International Meteorological Organization in 1873.
