Sal Island: Economic operators create Creole restaurants and bars association

Espargos, Aug 17 (Inforpress) – Economic operators in the bar and restaurant area, in Sal, have created an association with the mission of representing the class and contributing more effectively for all companies in the industry to advance and develop.

For Américo Soares, one of the operators in this area, who will take the presidency of the executive board, said today in statements to Inforpress, that this association should have been created “a long time ago”, to watch over, represent and develop the sector.

“Restaurants which have organized accounting is a non-profit business, because of the very high VAT [Value Added Tax]. More than 80% of the products we use in restaurants are exempt from VAT, and we have to pay (…) in addition to the taxes we also have to pay. The profit goes to the payment of VAT and taxes ”, he explained.

Hence, he explained, that the idea is to establish a “strong, serious” association, formed by Creole companies that honor their commitment to the State and its employees, so that when something goes wrong they can demand it accordingly.
