Sal is the first island to sign agreement with the Ombudsman with a focus on citizens

Espargos, June 15 (Inforpress) – Sal is the first island in the country to sign an agreement with the Cabo Verde Ombudsman’s Office, in an act that has taken place today to facilitate citizens’ demands with the Ombudsman.

The document signed by the Ombudsman, António Espirito Santo, the mayor of Sal, Júlio Lopes, and Carlos Santos, as president of the Municipal Assembly, will allow easy access of the citizen to this “very important” body in the defense and promotion of the rights, freedoms, guarantees and legitimate interests.

“I hope that this partnership will be useful for both institutions, and above all, useful for the citizens of the municipality of Sal,” said António Espirito Santo, in the certainty, as he said, to be able to carry out the best of the purposes of this partnership.

As for the mayor, Júlio Lopes, the signing of this agreement is a sign that local government is “very” focused on the individual, on the interests of citizens, thus creating conditions for them to have access to a set of public services, in this regard, easy access to the Ombudsman so that freedoms and guarantees are also ensured.
