Resumption: World Bank open to making adjustments to programmes planned for Cabo Verde

Praia, Sep 23 (Inforpress) – The Representative of the World Bank in Cabo Verde, Eneida Fernandes, said the organization is open to making adjustments to the programmes planned for Cabo Verde in this resumption of activities in the post-pandemic period.

Eneida Fernandes made these statements to the press on Wednesday, on the sidelines of a visit she made to the Operational Center of the Information Society (NOSI-EPE).

“The World Bank has already defined a programme with the Government of Cabo Verde for 5 years, I think we have adjusted the programme a little in this context of the pandemic, but focusing on the same priority areas that are human capital, social protection, digital, the issue of the private sector and renewable energy”, she told.

The representative also said this recovery will have a “more specific look” in the tourism and blue economy sectors, which, moreover, are the subject of the next project the World Bank is negotiating with the Government.
