Praia, Jul 22 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verdean historian and theologian Jairzinho Pereira recommended this Thursday, during the open journey of the Movement for Democracy (MpD), that political proposals be defined and adopted based on studies.
Jairzinho Pereira, who as an academic was one of the MpD parliamentary group guests to deliver a lecture on the theme “Discernment and political priorities in times of uncertainties”, stressed that methodical study and consideration will make political proposals more consistent, realistic and more appropriate to realities.
“For example, if we look at the changes, the geopolitical and political metamorphoses happening around the world, especially in the West, we should study these metamorphoses so that we can formulate feasible policy proposals,” he said.
Jairzinho Pereira, who holds a master’s degree in political science and a PhD in systematic theology, sees with good eyes that a political corporation is interested in listening to academics or civil society members.
