Republic Week: Twelfth edition addresses “The future of local power” and “The impacts of the pandemic”

Praia, Jan 9 (Inforpress) – The twelfth edition of the Republic Week, which runs from January 13 to 20, will debate topics such as “The Cape Verdean Nation: between challenges and concerns” and “Local power in the 20th century XXI”: clues for an integrated governance”.

Republic Week, commemoration alluding to the days of Freedom and Democracy and National Heroes, celebrated on the 13th and 20th of January, respectively, which takes place since 2012, starts on Friday, the 13th, with doors open at the Presidential Palace of the Republic, followed by a cultural event at the Beijing Hall.

According to information advanced by the Presidency of the Republic, through its page on the social network Facebook, on the 15th, Armed Forces Day will be celebrated.

The same source advances that the conference on “Local government in the 21st century: clues for integrated governance” takes place on January 16 and will have as speaker the Dean of the University of Aveiro, Filipe Teles, and as debaters the mayor of Mosteiros, Fábio Vieira, and the Deputy of the Nation, António Monteiro.
