Praia, Oct 14 (Inforpress) – The president of the National Civil Protection and Fire Service (SNPCB), Renaldo Rodrigues recognised Tuesday that there is a lot of work to be done in favor of human security, but calls on the population to continue to collaborate with the authorities.
Speaking to Inforpress, within the scope of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, which is observed this Tuesday, Renaldo Rodrigues said that “despite the efforts have been made, we find there is still a lot of work to be done” .
There are many people living in risk areas, with houses on hillsides, people with constructions on streams and water lines, pointed out the president, stressing that he recently had an example that one must “be more careful with human security”.
The last torrential rains left marks and warning signs that we must adapt our way of life to what nature offers us, taking preventive attitudes and, above all, avoiding “unnecessary” exposure to risks.
