Praia, Mar 2 (Inforpress) – The Regina Silva High School honored Monday the artist Orlando Pantera, with a wallpainting, on the day he turns 20 years of his physical disappearance.
This tribute, a partnership with the Ferro Gaita musical group and other partners from Achadinha, follows those have already been made to the Ferro Gaita group, the musician Bitori Nha Bibinha, the saxophonists Chala and Totinho and drummer Victor.
This time the school decided to honor Orlando Pantera, who died on March 1, 2001, “in recognition of the contribution made to spread the Cabo Verdean culture”.
The principal of the Regina Silva High School, João Evangelista Andrade, explained that this tribute symbolizes a “simple” recognition for everything the artist represented for Cabo Verde and the diaspora, but “especially for the Achadinha neighborhood, as a local musician”.
