Praia, Sep 14 (Inforpress) – The Mayor of Praia, Óscar Santos, pointed out this Sunday that more than 60 people have already been resettled due to the rainfall of the past few days, also stating that more interventions will be made during the week.
Óscar Santos made this statement to Inforpress, outside the visit he made in the neighborhoods most affected by the rain, with the presence of the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva.
As he pointed out, about 60 people have already been resettled, and, probably, during the week more will be placed in the National Stadium and in apartments. However, he said that some people preferred to stay in the places, in the house of neighbors specifically, to protect their belongings.
According to the mayor, several companies have already been mobilized to clean up the city, pointing out “a lot of work” to be done, especially with the floods coming from the countryside of Santiago, which means the need to build dikes, ditches and work better the slopes to reduce runoff and discipline the watercourse.
