Qualifying World Cup 2018: Cabo Verde suffered heavy defeats 4-0 in Burkina Faso


Brava, Nov 15 (Inforpress) – The national football team of Cabo Verde said goodbye on Tuesday night to qualify for the 2018 World Cup with a heavy defeats 4-0 in Ouagadougou against the Burkina Faso.

In the closing game of Group D’s sixth and final African qualifying, the host team featured Nakoulma’s hat-trick, goals scored at 45, 58 and 62 minutes, while Diawra closed the count at 90.

With this defeat, the fourth in six games in this qualifying round, Cabo Verde ends the competition in third place with six points, while Burkina Faso holds the second place with nine points.

Senegal, which qualified for the World Cup in Russia as the winner of this group, received and won, also tonight, South Africa 2-1 and ends the competition with 14 points, contrasting with South Africa, last positioned with four.

Africa will be represented in the final phase of Russia 2018 by national teams from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco (Maghreb countries), Nigeria and Senegal (ECOWAS).
