The same source highlights that in the second quarter of 2020, the production index in civil construction stood at 69.1, corresponding to a decrease of 36.5% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
This variation, according to the INE, was influenced by the decrease in the production of sanitary installation and plumbing materials (-60.4%), of frames (-49.9%), of other construction materials (-49.0 %), painting materials (-41.3%), electricity materials (-41.0%), coating materials (-38.8%) and basic materials (-33.8%) .
INE pointed out that the contribution of basic materials was more decisive in the overall variation in production index in civil construction due to its weight in civil construction.
